The province releases the questions for a referendum

Wednesday, February 18: Edmonton Riverbend MP Matt Jeneroux announces he is crossing the floor, leaving the Conservatives to join the Liberals. This brings Mark Carney’s government to within one seat of a majority.

Thursday, February 19: The provincial government continues its health system restructuring, announcing that ownership of Alberta Precision Laboratories will shift from AHS to Primary Care Alberta on April 1.

Friday, February 20: The province releases the questions for a referendum scheduled for October 19, 2026, with Albertans to vote on five questions relating to immigration and social services and four on constitutional reform.
