July 13: The province’s regulated iGaming system launches, making Alberta the second province after Ontario to allow private online gambling, including sports betting and casino games. Service Alberta minister Dale Nally estimates that 22 companies are ready to accept gamblers’ money.

Tuesday, July 14: Bank accounts belonging to Jeffrey Rath, an Alberta separatist leader and co-founder of the Alberta Prosperity Project, have been frozen as part of a legal dispute with the Tallcree First Nation that involves over $6-million alleged to have been misappropriated.

Thursday, July 16: Alberta NDP leader Naheed Nenshi announces he will seek a Calgary seat in the next provincial election. He won a seat in Edmonton-Strathcona in a June 2025 by-election.
