Monday, November 10: The Pan American Health Organization notifies Canada that it has lost the measles elimination status it received in 1998. Alberta accounts for 38 per cent of the 5,100 reported in the country since the start of the year.

November 10: A new Leger poll suggests that just 33% of Alberta felt the use of the notwithstanding clause to force teachers back to work was appropriate, with 52% saying that the government’s handling of the strike has worsened their opinion of the UCP. A majority of Albertans (51%) support a general strike.

Wednesday, November 12: Mediation between Alberta Health Services and the Health Sciences Association of Alberta, representing 22,000 health-care professionals in the province, resumes. Previously, the HSAA had rejected a deal that would have seen a 12 per cent wage increase.
